Goofish camera listings with missing accessories

A used-camera dealer wants to compare listings whose accessories and stated condition differ. The proposed research groups seller statements and asking prices with the buyer’s repair assumptions, identifying which listings justify further questions rather than a purchase recommendation.

These scenarios are plans for discussing a future purchase. They do not report completed customer orders.

The buying situation

In this scenario, camera bodies on Goofish carry different claims about condition, chargers, batteries and missing covers. The dealer needs those differences recorded consistently, with repair and replacement costs supplied by the buyer, before deciding which sellers are worth contacting.

Proposed approach

  1. Group listings by exact camera model and version, preserving the listing date, asking price, photographs and seller-stated condition without converting those statements into inspection findings.
  2. Record included and missing accessories against each listing, then apply the buyer’s repair or replacement assumptions and flag listings that cannot be costed from available information.
  3. Prepare a contact shortlist with specific questions about condition, completeness and seller terms, leaving the buyer to approve any inspection, negotiation or purchase after replies.

Decision pack for approval

A proposed comparison of non-standard listings and a seller-question list. The buyer would still review replies and any inspection evidence before choosing an item or agreeing a price.

Still to confirm

Actual condition, ownership, accessory completeness, availability and seller terms. Asking prices would remain separate from confirmed transaction prices.
